When UCLA has the ball

-

• Fifth-year senior QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson has thrown for 2,694 yards and 24 touchdowns and has rushed for 544 yards and nine scores. His dual-threat abilities can confound a defense. “When DTR gets out” on a scramble, Cal defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon said, “sometimes there’s 10, 15 yards of space between him and the next defensive player.”

• Though he has missed two games this season, Zach Charbonnet still leads the Pac-12 in rushing yards with 1,240. He averages 7.3 yards per carry and has run for 13 touchdowns. He gained 106 yards on 22 carries in the Bruins’ 42-14 romp over Cal at the Rose Bowl last year.

• Linebacker Jackson Sirmon likely earned the coveted nickname of “BGH” — Big Game Hero — for his 37-yard fumble return for the go-ahead TD in Cal’s 27-20 win over Stanford on Saturday. The transfer from Washington ranks third in the conference in tackles this season and needs nine to reach 100.
