Menlo Park man gets 165-year molestation sentence
A 62-year-old man was sentenced to 165 years to life after a jury convicted him of molesting nine children over 30 years while working as a photographer at a local swimming pool, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Randolph Michael Haldeman of Menlo Park was first found guilty in May of two counts of oral copulation by use of drugs, one count of sodomy, five counts of child molestation, five counts of forcible lewd act with a child and one count of felony contact with a child for a lewd act, according to a report from the Mercury News.
A judge sentenced Haldeman to serve 11 separate 15years-to-life in prison sentences Tuesday.
Haldeman befriended children and their families through his work as a photographer for the Ladera Community Swimming Pool, claiming to have also been connected with the Big Brothers program.
Haldeman molested the nine children at his Menlo Park home, the community swimming pool and St. Denis Church in Menlo Park, according to the Mercury News report.
