Man dies in East Bay solo motorcycle crash

A motorcycli­st died Saturday night after crashing into a guardrail in the East Bay, authoritie­s said.

The male victim was traveling southbound on Crockett Boulevard at about 10:19 p.m. when he collided with a guardrail just north of Cummings Skyway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim was ejected from the Ducati motorcycle he was riding, authoritie­s said.

The speed at which he was traveling was not immediatel­y available, and authoritie­s were investigat­ing whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.

The man, whose identity has not been released, died at the scene of the crash.

The investigat­ion into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with informatio­n was asked to contact the CHP Contra Costa County office in Martinez at 925646-4980.
