Two arrested in connection with Muni bus shooting
San Francisco police arrested two people in connection with a shooting on a Muni bus in August that left a man dead and a woman injured, officials said Tuesday.
Ilasa Faalogoifo, 23, and Jasmine Taaga, 21, were arrested on Nov. 18 and booked into the San Francisco County Jail on homicide and attempted homicide charges, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Faalogoifo was also charged with a post-release supervision violation.
The two suspects were accused of being involved in a shooting in the Sunnydale neighborhood.
On Aug. 3, police officers responded to reports of a shooting on a bus at about 3:20 p.m. at Velasco Avenue and Santos Street, authorities said.
The shooting happened on the 8 Bayshore route, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency said at the time.
A 20-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his wounds, police said.
Another victim, a 62-yearold woman, went to the hospital for her non-life-threatening injuries.
San Francisco investigators identified Faalogoifo and Taaga as suspects and alerted other law enforcement agencies.
On Nov. 18, police in Daly City notified San Francisco investigators that Faalogoifo and Taaga were at a hotel on the 2900 block of Geneva Avenue.
San Francisco police arrested both individuals and “seized evidence related to the investigation,” they said.
