Sharks trade Megna to Seattle

-

The Seattle Kraken acquired defenseman Jaycob Megna from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2023 fourth-round draft pick.

Megna is in the midst of his best season with 12 points in 48 games for the Sharks while averaging more than 19 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-6, 220pound Megna will add some size and bulk to Seattle’s lineup. Megna ranked fifth for San Jose in both blocked shots and hits.

Megna previously played for Anaheim for parts of three seasons between 2016-19. The 48 games played this season is a career high for the 30year-old.

Seattle is tied for the lead in the Pacific Division and will return from the All-Star break beginning Tuesday night against the New York Islanders.

With Brenden Aaronson also in the squad, Leeds, which lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest, became the first team to have three U.S. internationals play in the same season in the EPL since 2012-13, when Stoke had Geoff Cameron, Brek Shea and Maurice Edu.

WNBA: The Las Vegas Aces traded recently acquired 6-foot-5 center Amanda Zahui B. to Washington for the Mystics’ second-round draft picks in 2024 and 2025.

Zahui B. came over to the Aces from the Los Angeles Sparks in a Jan. 21 trade for two-time AllStar Dearica Hamby, a former two-time WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year. That deal allowed the Aces to clear salary cap room to acquire two-time MVP Candace Parker, who signed Wednesday.
