At 7:47am, Wednesday, January 25th, 2023, Eugene Charles Hahn, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 63. Born at 7:47pm on October 16th, 1959, in San Francisco to Edward and Velma Hahn, Gene received his pilot’s license at the age of 16 and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1977. He went on to receive a degree in Aerospace Engineerin­g from California Polytechni­c State University, Pomona. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Patricia (née Rabidue). Gene and Patty raised two daughters, Stephanie and Emma, who are blessed to have known his humor, compassion, and generosity.

Always the pilot, Gene worked for American Eagle/ Wings West Airlines, US Airways Express/ Allegheny Airlines, Horizon Air, and the Federal Aviation Administra­tion and later held roles such as Director Flight Operations, Vice President Maintenanc­e and Engineerin­g, and Senior Vice President Operations. As Gene would say, “Aviation’s my life.”

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hahn, in 2007, his mother, Velma Hahn, in 2017, and his brother, Alan Hahn (Connie), in 2021. Gene is survived by his wife Patricia Hahn; two daughters Stephanie Hahn and Emma Hahn; his brothers Don Hahn (Dawn) and Roy Hahn (Linda Montgomery); nieces and nephews Bill Hahn, Jennifer Hahn, Victoria Pavia (Vince), Christophe­r Hahn, Colleen Hahn, and Kevin Hahn. Please join us in celebratio­n of Gene’s life at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, California on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, at 6pm. Donations may be sent to the charity of your choice.
