Our mom was born in Nebraska to John and Marian McQuillan. She left Nebraska in 1960 and headed West with her best friend Judy. After marrying our dad and starting their family in Monterey they dropped down permanent roots in the Sunset District in San Francisco.

Mom was deeply involved in St Anne’s School and Church through our upbringing and beyond. Mom worked 30+ years for the SFUSD as a school secretary and spent over 20 of those years at West Portal elementary. Mom developed lifelong friends thru St Anne’s, SFUSD and West Portal which carried through to the end, once a friend of Michel’s, always a friend of Michel’s. Mom’s favorite hobbies included camping, bridge, movies, her favorite tv shows, church, lunch with friends and spending time with her kids, grandkids and the family pets, most recently Cooper. Nothing brought Mom more joy than knowing her family was happy and safe, she will be desperately missed by all those she left behind.

Our dad preceded her in death in 1996 and together they now rest in peace. Mom is survived by her children and grandchildren, Chris, Suzanne,

Sheila (Jose), Carlin, Conor, Eddie and Ellie. She is also survived by her siblings Joe (Mary Kay), Tim and Colleen and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

To honor Mom’s beautiful life, friends and family are welcome to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Anne of the Sunset Church located at 850 Judah Street. Visitation starts at 11:30am followed by recitation of 2 decades of the rosary and memorial mass at noon. For those unable to attend the mass, it will be streamed live on Facebook @ St. Anne of the Sunset, San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation that honors her memory to your local animal shelter.
