Wayman Yeung

On March 13, 2023, Wayman Yeung passed away at home after living a long life. He is survived by oldest son Patrick and Sorn, youngest son Eric, and several nephews and nieces.

Wayman was born on August 15, 1932 in Shaxi, Zhongshan, China to Pui Ming Pang and Joe Shee.

Wayman moved to America in 1950 with his father and younger brother Barclay. He served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955, stationed overseas in Europe, and later graduated from Golden Gate College in 1960. He later met his future wife Daisy, introduced by her sister Elizabeth who was also a college classmate. Daisy and Wayman were married on November 30, 1965, in Syracuse, NY. They settled in San Francisco where they raised their family.

He worked for 30 years as an accountant and payroll manager with the San Francisco Unified School District before retiring in 1992. Daisy and Wayman spent many years traveling the world during retirement until her passing in 2015. Many of their favorite trips together included various cruises. In total, Wayman has been on 20 cruises. He would continue to enjoy traveling with different family members. Of significan­ce was a large family trip in 2018 to Zhongshan when the then remaining three siblings returned to visit their childhood homes.

Wayman will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611 on Saturday March 25, 2023 at 11:00am followed by burial at 12:00pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00am.

Reception will be at 2:00pm in South San Francisco.
