Roberts’ Presidio Heights home gets a buyer fast for $12 million
Julia Roberts’ home in San Francisco’s coveted Presidio Heights neighborhood hit the market last week and apparently has already found a buyer.
The Edwardian residence at 3530 Washington St., listed by Tania Toubba at Sotheby’s International Realty, is currently marked as “pending” on real estate listings websites, with an asking price of $11.75 million.
The five-level, 6,315square-foot property boasts panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bay and the Presidio — a former Army base transformed into a national park. Additionally, it features a private spa in the backyard.
Inside the 1912 home, originally designed by architect Sylvain Schnaittacher and later renovated by renowned designer John Wheatman, are five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, an office, a grand staircase, a breakfast nook, two ovens, a walk-in pantry, wood-burning fireplaces and a wet bar.
Roberts acquired the property in January 2020 for $8.3 million, following a reduction from the initial listing price of $10.25 million.
The previous owner, Brodie Cobb, founder of the financial services firm the Presidio Group, purchased the home for $1.88 million in 1997.
Roberts, the Oscar-winning actress known for her roles in “Erin Brockovich” and “Pretty Woman,” resided in the house for less than four years.
If she gets the asking price, she is set to make a profit of approximately $3.45 million.
In addition to their California holdings, Roberts and her husband, Daniel Moder, own residences in various states, including New Mexico, New York and Hawaii. Their real estate portfolio includes a ranch in Malibu’s Point Dume and a co-op in New York City’s West Village.
