Louise Marotta Breber

Louise Breber passed peacefully in her home in Orinda on October 14th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Louise is survived by her four children, Sandra, Renee, Micaela and Pierre and eight grandchildren.

Louise was born in Montreal into a large Italian family and was very close to her three sisters. She attended McGill University where she studied Physical Therapy. While working a summer job at the Manoir Richelieu Resort in northern Quebec, she met the love of her life, Mike Breber. They married soon thereafter and were lifelong partners for 64 years until Mike’s passing in 2020. She was an incredible mother and her priority was always family. She was the glue that held everyone together in the Breber family, raising 4 children and helping out with all of her 8 grandchildren.

Louise lived her life to the fullest and loved to travel abroad exploring new countries and cultures. In 1978, the family left Montreal and moved to California making Orinda their new home. Louise loved her California lifestyle and became an avid golf and tennis player. She and Mike loved it so much that they acquired a second home in Palm Desert so they could enjoy their favorite sports year round. She supported Mike throughout his storied career, traveling the world with him and when his job took him to Paris, she managed yet a third impeccable and welcoming household.

Louise moved through life with grit, grace and elegance. She loved to read and was passionate about art and history yet still kept up to date on the latest news. She was always ahead of the game and well versed in world issues.

In her final weeks, Louise spent quality time with her kids and grandkids never losing her sense of humor and wit. She was respected by many, and we all admired her spirit and joie de vivre! Louise was a force and never wavered in her loyalties of putting family first.

Louise created a legacy to be proud of and we are all blessed to have her in our lives.
