Singer’s S.F. home hits market for $3.6M
Third Eye Blind fans can get a glimpse of Stephan Jenkins’ “Semi-Charmed Life” now that the frontman has listed his 19th century San Francisco home for $3.6 million.
Located at 76 Liberty St. in the Eureka Heights neighborhood, the Italianate Victorian boasts four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one partial bathroom, and spans 2,300 square feet of living space.
Originally constructed in 1880 for a sea captain, the home has preserved much of its historic charm while incorporating modern amenities, according to listing agent Daria Saraf of Sotheby’s International Realty in San Francisco. Among the original details is the bird’s-eye maple mantle, complete with an original beveled inset mirror and a gas insert for warmth.
Among its contemporary upgrades is the designer Bulthaup kitchen, equipped with Gaggenau appliances and integrated Sub-Zero dishwasher drawers. The property description invites residents to “gather at the island or lounge in the breakfast area where you play chef and barista with all the best tools.”
The kitchen, which was featured in Jenkins’ live quarantine sessions during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, seamlessly transitions to a sunny Ipe wood deck and spa area enclosed by 30-foot pittosporum hedges, creating a serene outdoor retreat.
Ascending the original, sturdy staircase — “free from creaks after 150 years,” according to the listing — leads to three spacious bedrooms and a smaller space that can be used as a nursery, office or guest room. The primary en suite bathroom boasts a single-cut marble shower, double sink and custom-built walnut closets.
Jenkins bought the home in 2013 for $2.35 million, according to public property records.
The Victorian features EV charging stations for three vehicles and an electric bike charging station. It’s located close to Dolores Park and the lively Valencia and Guerrero street corridors of the Mission District, home to popular spots like BiRite, Tartine, Tacolicious, Lone Palm, Señor Sisig and Flour & Water.
The neighborhood also counts tech moguls among its residents, including Jenkins’ former neighbor Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who sold his home for $31 million in 2022.
Jenkins and Third Eye Blind, best known for its 1997 self-titled debut and hits like “SemiCharmed Life,” “How’s It Going to Be” and “Jumper,” are gearing up for a summer tour, which is set to start June 9 in Washington. The band is scheduled to headline Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, with support from Yellowcard and Arizona, on June 15.
