Steve was born Novem­ber 25, 1950 in San Fran­cisco, CA to Vi­o­leta and Steve A. San Filippo. Steve and his sis­ter Ch­eryl grew up in South San Fran­cisco. Steve is a grad­u­ate of Ju­nipero Serra High School (‘69) and USF (‘73) where he was a mem­ber of Delta Sigma fra­ter­nity. Steve was a pi­o­neer in pub­lic ac­count­ing for over 40 years, end­ing his ca­reer too soon at Sen­siba San Filippo. Steve was proud to be a founder and Au­dit Part­ner at one of the largest North­ern Cal­i­for­nia full ser­vice ac­count­ing firms.

Al­ways gen­er­ous with his time, Steve cur­rently served on the boards of Ju­nipero Serra High School in San Ma­teo and Se­quoia Hos­pi­tal

in Red­wood City. He pre­vi­ously served on the boards of Notre Dame High School and the Se­quoia Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion, among oth­ers, and served as a plan­ning Com­mis­sioner in San Car­los. Steve had been a long­time Ro­tar­ian and cur­rently loved spend­ing his time with The Fam­ily. Keep Young.

Known in the com­mu­nity as a vi­sion­ary busi­ness leader, to his fam­ily Steve was a dot­ing hus­band and lov­ing fa­ther and grand­fa­ther. Steve passed sud­denly and un­ex­pect­edly on Oc­to­ber 9, 2018. He leaves be­hind his wife of 21 years, Julie, their son Joseph; son Do­minic and daugh­ter Marisa (Matt Rudy) of his prior mar­riage to Jan, and grand­daugh­ter Olivia.

Ser­vices to be held at the Cathe­dral of St. Mary of the As­sump­tion in San Fran­cisco on Novem­ber 8, 2018 at 10 a.m., 1111 Gough Street. Cel­e­bra­tion of Life im­me­di­ately fol­low­ing in Pa­tron’s Hall, lo­cated di­rectly be­neath the Cathe­dral.

To honor Steve, the San Filippo fam­ily re­quest that con­tri­bu­tions be made to any of the fol­low­ing char­i­ties: Se­quoia Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion, Ju­nipero Serra High School or the Univer­sity of San Fran­cisco.
