_1 Alec Baldwin arrest: Actor Alec Baldwin is denying that he punched anyone over a parking spot. The actor was arrested Friday and charged with assault after allegedly hitting another man in the face during a dispute over a parking spot in New York City. The actor later tweeted that “the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false.” Baldwin, 60, told police a family member was holding the spot in front of his Manhattan home when a motorist pulled up and took it. The driver told police Baldwin hit him. Baldwin was ordered to appear in court Nov. 26.
_2 Warehouse collapse: Two people were killed when part of an Amazon distribution warehouse in Baltimore collapsed during a severe storm, a spokeswoman for the retail giant said Saturday. The men worked for an outside contractor, spokeswoman Rachael Lighty said. No one else was injured when severe storms with strong winds tore through Maryland on Friday night. One man was found under debris Friday and later pronounced dead, while the second man’s body was recovered under rubble Saturday. Officials said a 50-foot wall at the warehouse collapsed.
_3 Mother killed: A 15-year-old Florida boy was charged Saturday in his mother’s strangulation death at their home in DeBary after her body was found, authorities said. Sheriff Mike Chitwood said the teenager was arrested after the body of Gail Cleavenger, 46, was found under a church fire pit. Investigators say the boy killed her after they argued about his school grades. After the killing, authorities said the boy called friends to help him make it look like someone had burglarized the home. The boy initially told deputies his mother was missing. The two 17-year-old friends face multiple charges.
_4 Teachers disciplined: Fourteen staff members at an Idaho school district who donned caricatured outfits depicting Mexicans and a border wall emblazoned with “Make America Great Again” have been placed on paid administrative leave. Middleton School District superintendent Josh Middleton announced the decision Saturday at a special school board meeting. Photos were posted to the district’s Facebook page Thursday night and later removed.
_5 Four killed: Three Girl Scouts and one woman collecting trash in Lake Hallie, Wis., were killed Saturday in a hit-and-run crash, authorities said. Police Sgt. Daniel Sokup said the driver of the pickup that hit the group fled the scene but later turned himself in. A fourth girl was in critical condition. The crash happened as the girls were picking up litter in Lake Hallie, a village about 95 miles east of Minneapolis. The pickup truck veered off the road and hit the group.
