Griz­zlies top Nets in 2 OTs

Mike Con­ley scored 13 of Mem­phis’ 14 points in the sec­ond over­time pe­riod, rookie Jaren Jack­son Jr. scored 36 points and the Griz­zlies beat the Brook­lyn Nets 131-125 Fri­day in New York.

Con­ley kept Mem­phis’ hopes alive in reg­u­la­tion when he blocked Spencer Din­wid­die’s po­ten­tial game-win­ning bas­ket and then scored on a floater to tie it 117-all with nine sec­onds left in the first over­time pe­riod.

Con­ley then prac­ti­cally beat the Nets on his own in the sec­ond over­time pe­riod, shoot­ing 3-for-3 from the field and mak­ing all seven of his free throws to fin­ish with 37 points and 10 re­bounds. Nuggets 113, Trail Blaz­ers 112: Gary Har­ris scored 27 points and vis­it­ing Den­ver held on to win its fifth straight game. Paul Mill­sap added 22 points for the Nuggets, who led by as many as 17 points but nearly squan­dered it in the fran­tic fi­nal min­utes.

Lak­ers 114, Mav­er­icks 104: LeBron James scored 28 points and Bran­don In­gram added 19 for Los An­ge­les, which won its sec­ond road game in two nights. The Lak­ers trailed for most of the first three quar­ters be­fore ral­ly­ing. Har­ri­son Barnes led Dal­las with 29 points.

Thun­der 124, Hawks 109: Rus­sell West­brook fell a re­bound short of a triple-dou­ble, fin­ish­ing with 23 points, 10 as­sists and nine re­bounds for host Ok­la­homa City. Alex Abrines scored 21 points on seven three-point­ers as the Thun­der hit 18 threes. John Collins and Alex Len each scored 19 points for At­lanta.

Celtics 128, Cava­liers 95: Kyrie Irv­ing scored 29 points in the first three quar­ters and host Bos­ton topped its season-scor­ing high for the sec­ond straight game. The Celtics took over in the third quar­ter, mak­ing 6 of 8 three-point at­tempts and outscor­ing Cleve­land 39-20. Tris­tan Thomp­son had 13 points and 12 re­bounds for the Cava­liers.

76ers 123, Wizards 98: Joel Em­biid had 16 points and 15 re­bounds, Ben Sim­mons added 13 points and 10 as­sists and both Philadel­phia stars sat for the fi­nal quar­ter and a half as the 76ers im­proved to 12-1 at home. Bradley Beal had 19 points for Wash­ing­ton.

Rockets 136, Spurs 105: Clint Capela had 27 points and 12 re­bounds, James Har­den added 23 points and 10 as­sists and vis­it­ing Houston handed San Antonio its sec­ond straight lop­sided loss. La­Mar­cus Aldridge had 20 points for the Spurs, who lost by 39 to Min­ne­sota on Wed­nes­day.

Heat 106, Pel­i­cans 101: Josh Richard­son scored 20 points, Dwyane Wade added 18 and host Mi­ami wasted most of a 31-point lead be­fore hang­ing on to beat New Or­leans. An­thony Davis had 41 points for the Pel­i­cans.

Pistons 107, Bulls 88: An­dre Drum­mond had 19 points and 19 re­bounds and Blake Grif­fin added 20 points and 10 re­bounds for host Detroit. Rookie Wen­dell Carter scored 28 points for the Bulls.

Jazz 119, Hor­nets 111: Dono­van Mitchell scored 30 points, Rudy Gobert had 20 points and 17 re­bounds and vis­it­ing Utah scored 54 points off three-point­ers to hold off Char­lotte. Kyle Korver made four threes and scored 14 points in his first game in his sec­ond stint with the Jazz. He was ac­quired from Cleve­land on Thurs­day.

Magic 99, Suns 85: Nikola Vuce­vic had 25 points and 15 re­bounds and Ter­rence Ross added 21 points off the bench for vis­it­ing Or­lando. De­an­dre Ay­ton scored 19 points and Ja­mal Craw­ford had 18 as Phoenix lost its fourth straight.
