Sacra­mento in limbo as MLS de­lays de­ci­sion

Ma­jor League Soc­cer is post­pon­ing a de­ci­sion on its next ex­pan­sion team un­til next year.

A day af­ter se­lect­ing Nashville as one of its next two ad­di­tions, MLS said it still is con­sid­er­ing which mar­ket to add from among Sacra­mento, Cincin­nati and Detroit.

Base­ball:

Right-han­der Ja­cob Turner signed a mi­nor-league con­tract with the Mi­ami Mar­lins, with whom he pitched from 2012 through ’14 . ... The Texas Rangers signed right-handed pitch­ers Shawn Tolle­son and Paolo Espino to mi­nor-league con­tracts with in­vi­ta­tions to spring train­ing.
