9-point quar­ter for Suns — again

Damian Lillard had 25 points and eight as­sists and host Port­land rolled to a 108-86 win Thurs­day night over the Suns — who were held to nine points in the first quar­ter for the sec­ond con­sec­u­tive game.

Jake Lay­man came off the bench to score a ca­reer-high 24 points for the Blaz­ers, who had lost six of their past seven games and their past three. Port­land led by as many as 31 points.

Troy Daniels had a sea­son­high 15 points for the Suns, who have lost seven straight. Phoenix has just four vic­to­ries this sea­son, and one on the road. Phoenix lost 122-105 to Sacra­mento on Tues­day — and trailed 36-9 af­ter one pe­riod.

Jazz 118, Rock­ets 91:

Der­rick Fa­vors had 24 points and 10 re­bounds off the bench to help host Utah over­come Rudy Gobert’s quick ejec­tion and coast to vic­tory over Hous­ton . Joe In­gles added 18 points and six re­bounds for the Jazz. Utah (13-13) won for the fourth time in five games to climb back to .500.

Celtics 128, Knicks 100:

Kyrie Irv­ing scored 22 points be­fore leav­ing the game in the fi­nal min­utes nurs­ing his right shoul­der, Al Hor­ford had 19 points and 12 re­bounds, and host Bos­ton coasted. Jaylen Brown re­turned af­ter miss­ing three games with a bruised lower back and scored a sea­son-high 21 points. Jayson Ta­tum added 17 for the Celtics, who won their fourth straight game.
