Two Pacifica men arrested after an attempted robbery
SANTA CRUZ >> Two men were arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Main Jail Tuesday in connection to an attempted robbery Tuesday morning.
Santa Cruz Police officers were patrolling the area of Mike Fox Park, at 225 San Lorenzo Blvd. around 1 a. m. Tuesday when they observed a disturbance among three people that resulted in a single gunshot, officials said. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire, according to Santa Cruz Police Lt. Arnold Vasquez. One person fled and the other two people stayed on scene, one of which was determined to be the victim of an attempted robbery.
During an investigation, officers recovered a loaded unregistered fire
arm at the scene, along with a large quantity of marijuana, additional unregistered firearm components and multiple largecapacity rifle and pistol magazines in an associ
ated vehicle, according to Vasquez.
Pacifica resident Ryan Mcauliffe, 26, was later located by officers and believed to be the man that initially fled the scene of the attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday, according to a Santa Cruz Police press release. Mcauliffe was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail for attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana for sales, possession of large- capacity magazines and a felon in possession of a firearm. Dillon Alan Mahoney, 22 and also of Pacifica, was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail for possession of marijuana for sales, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
