Change of habits needed to avoid to-go cups
It does take a bit of a mind shake and a willingness to change old habits to boycott plastics and cut back on unnecessary waste. Often, while waiting in line at my favorite coffee vendors, I’ve noticed how more than half of the seated customers opt for to- go cups and lids, instead of the available mugs and glasses. I’ve often wondered if it’s because the to-go cups seem more trendy, or is their use subtly encouraged by store employees attempting to avoid spending their time washing dishes?
