Local roundup: Aptos golfer Eddie Olson to open on North Course at Torrey Pines in PGA event,

Aptos’ Eddie Olson was paired with Chase Seiffert of Florida and Matthew NeSmith of South Carrolina for the first two rounds of the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.

They’ll tee off at 10 a.m. on the North Course’s first tee in Thursday’s opening round. In Friday’s second round, they’ll tee off at 11 a.m. off the 10th tee at the South Course.

Tiger Woods, making his 2020 debut, was paired with a pair of former Western Intercolle­giate headliners, Collin Morikawa, formerly of Cal, and Arizona State alumnus Jon Rahm.

PAJARO VALLEY 73, WATSONVILL­E 51 » Christian Quintero had 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, and the Grizzlies waxed their crosstown rival in Pacific Coast Athletic League Cypress Division play at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Tuesday night.

Bryan Gallardo added 16 points, four rebounds and three of the Grizzlies’ 21 steals.

ST. FRANCIS 69, AT NORTH SALINAS 61 » Joey Garibay scored a season- high 41 points to lead the undefeated Sharks in their PCAL Cypress Division play Tuesday night.

Dominick Nakagawa scored 10 points for the Sharks ( 11- 4 3- 0), Isaiah Gonzalez scored nine points, and Lawson Orradre scored seven points.

St. Francis led 32- 31 at the half. Sharks coach Duncan Edwards credited reserve Miles Guardino for his solid play after coming off the bench.

The Sharks play at Soledad on Thursday.

AT APTOS 45, SCOTTS VALLEY 40 » Joseph Moreno made all four of his freethrow attempts in the fourth quarter and finished with 16 points Tuesday to keep the Mariners unbeaten in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.

Scotts Valley’s Derek Tom scored seven of his team- high 15 points in the fourth quarter. Falcons junior Lance Ultsch contribute­d nine points and 10 rebounds, and junior Jack Fletcher tossed in nine points.

On Friday at 7 p.m. the second half of league begins with Aptos (11-7, 5- 0) at Soquel and Scotts Valley (10- 9, 2- 3) at Santa Cruz.

AT CHRISTOPHE­R 44, MONTE VISTA CHRISTIAN 43, OT » Freshman forward Jaiden Prada had 11 points and six rebounds in the Mustangs’ PCAL Mission Division loss.

Junior shooting guard Armando Vasquez- Green also scored 11 points for the Mustangs (8-9, 1-2) and senior forward Mason Beske added 10.

AT SOQUEL 60, SAN LORENZO VALLEY 52 » The Knights prevailed in the tightly contested SCCAL game Tuesday.

Sophomore guard Asher Dolinger led SLV with 25 points including seven 3- pointers. Forward JJ Jackman added nine points and Michael Kelly had six points and eight assists.

AT APTOS 66, SCOTTS VALLEY 35 » Senior Natalia Ackerman, who on Monday eclipsed 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career, posted another solid outing to help the Mariners roll in SCCAL play.

Ackerman had 21 points and seven rebounds. Jasmine Ackerman scored 13 points for the Mariners (15- 4, 5- 0) and Gabby Giuffre added nine. Jalen Dang had eight points and eight rebounds.

Ella Giguiere scored 12 points to lead Scotts Valley. Lauren Ambiel scored 10 points and Kaitlin Imai added seven points.

The Falcons (10-10, 3-2) play at Santa Cruz on Tuesday.

AT SANTA CRUZ 49, HARBOR 9» Bella Stevens had 22 points, six rebounds and four steals to lead the Cardinals in their SCCAL rout on Tuesday.

Isabella O’Donnell scored seven points for the Cardinals (13- 5, 4-1). Julie Robinson had six points 10 rebounds and four steals, and Sam Courtright added five points. Rashonda Rhodes had seven rebounds.

Molly Endert scored four points to lead Harbor and teammates Sam Gonzales and Gianna Scalzo each had a field goal.

AT SOQUEL 60, SLV 26 » Isis Yao had 12 points and seven rebounds in the Knights’ SCCAL rout Tuesday.

Junior guard Renee Parker added 10 points and Jess Muhly, Lily Thayer and Lexi Noble each scored seven points.

Soquel hosts Aptos on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

ST. FRANCIS 51, AT KING CITY 49 » Audrey Hernandez and Grace Kovacs each buried five 3-pointers in the Sharks’ PCAL Cypress Division win Tuesday.

Hernandez finished with a game-high 23 points and Kovacs scored 19.

PAJARO VALLEY 11, RANCHO SAN JUAN 0 » Jasmine Castillo scored a school-record nine goals in the Grizzlies’ landslide PCAL Santa Lucia Division win Tuesday.

Karla Leyva and Kylie Montañez each had a goal and assist. Iris Campuzano had three assists.

AT SOQUEL 3, SLV 0 » Luz Ruiz had a goal and assist in the Knights’ SCCAL win Tuesday night.

Ruiz finished a cross from Ava Donaldson in the 45th minute and slipped a pass behind the defense in the 80th minute that Madalynn Narciso ran onto and buried in the net.

Gisselle Vasquez- Cruz opened scoring in the 20th minute with an unassisted goal. She blasted a direct free kick off of the wall, then gathered the rebound and blasted a 20yard shot into the lower right corner.

Goalie Emily Poole recorded the shutout for the Knights (10-3-2, 3-1-1), who play Thursday at Aptos at 7 p.m.

SANTA CRUZ 3, HARBOR 0 » Julia Moore scored twice and the SCCAL- leading Cardinals stayed unbeaten in league with their shutout of the Pirates on Tuesday.

Natalie Wenger also scored for the Cardinals (8-1- 5, 3- 0-2).

AT APTOS 2, SCOTTS VALLEY 1 » The Mariners (9-22, 3-1-1) moved into a tie for second place with Soquel with their SCCAL win over the Falcons on Tuesday.

MVC 6, AT KING CITY 0 » The Mustangs posted a shutout in their PCAL Mission Division rout Tuesday.

AT SALINAS 6, PAJARO VALLEY 2 » Alan Bedolla scored a pair of unassisted goals for the Grizzlies in their PCAL Mission Division loss Tuesday.

Bedolla has 13 goals on the Grizzlies (6- 3- 3, 1-1-1) this season, one behind Kevin Rincon for the team lead.

Pajaro Valley faces North Monterey County at Watsonvill­e High on Thursday at 5:45 p.m.
