ACLU offers webinor on 911 olternotive Seminor exomines mentol heolth benefit
The Santa Cruz County Chapter of the ACLU of Northern California will present an educational webinar on an alternative response to 911 calls from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 17 on Zoom.
This webinar is designed to educate the public about the need and possibility for change and to move the county closer to making that change.
The webinar will address the current system and the possibilities for a new system. Speakers include Stephanie French, operations division manager of the Santa Cruz Regional 911 system; Sarah Leonard, executive director of the Mental Health Client Action Network; Ashley Tran, Suicide Crisis Line Coordinator for Suicide Prevention Service of the Central Coast, and Ben Adam Climer, a consultant for CAHOOTS, which has been operating an alternative 911 response program in Eugene, Oregon, for 31 years.
