Here’s a look at how other athletes from Santa Cruz County are doing at the college level:

Women’s basketball

Delaney Moore (Monte Vista Christian), Idaho State, Sr.: The 6-foot forward has increased her scoring significan­tly in the past couple of weeks, reaching double digits in three of unbeaten ISU’s past four wins.

Moore finished second on the Bengals with a seasonhigh 14 points in last Saturday’s 70-62 win over Portland State, shooting 6-for-11 from the field. She also recorded a doubledoub­le at Sacramento State on Jan. 14, netting 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, and scored 12 points at Sac State on Jan. 16.

Natalia Ackerman (Aptos), Cal Poly, Fr.: The 6-foot-1 forward made a semi-triumphant return from injury last Saturday, recording a double-double in the Mustangs’ 79-70 loss to visiting UC Irvine. Ackerman scored a teamhigh 15 points on perfect 7-for-7 shooting from the field and also led Cal Poly with 10rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.

Haley Jones (Archbishop Mitty), Stanford, So.:

The 6-foot-1 guard has averaged 16.0 points in her last four games for the No. 5-ranked Cardinal. Jones led Stanford with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Cardinal’s 84-59 blowout of USC on Sunday after being held to just 12 in a 70-66 loss to No. 6 UCLA on Friday.

Men’s basketball

Trey Whitley (Harbor/ Cabrillo College), Black Hills State (S.D.), Sr.: The guard scored 18 points on 6-of-8shooting from the field last Saturday in the Yellow Jackets’ 79-78 loss to the South Dakota School of Mines. Whitley went 2-for-3 from 3-point range, 4-for-6 at the foul line and dished out a team-high four assists.

Whitley also scored seven points on Friday in BHSU’s 79-53 win over Western Colorado — the Jackets’ first game following a fourgame layoff.

Carl Snyder (MVC), Mayville State (N.D.), Sr.: The 6-foot-9 center has averaged just 3.75 points over his past four games. His best performanc­e in that stretch came last Friday, when he scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting from the field in Mayville State’s 80-77 loss to Dickinson State.

Blake Welle (Aptos), Cal, Redshirt So.: The 6-foot-7 forward grabbed two rebounds and made a free throw in the Golden Bears’ Jan. 14 loss to Colorado.
