Remember seniors on Valentine’s Day

-

Volunteers are needed to write Valentine’s cards to seniors in assisted and skilled nursing facilities, according to a release from the Family Service Agency of the Central Coast.

Cards can be homemade or purchased in a store. The group is also accepting “Thinking of You Cards.” Activity items can also help and relieve some of the stress and isolation residents may be feeling. Some suggestions include crossword puzzles, word search books and adult coloring books.

Cards and items can be dropped off at:

• The Family Service Agency/I-You Venture, 104 Walnut Ave., No. 208, Santa Cruz.

• The Santa Cruz Volunteer Center, Attn: FSA, 1740 17th Ave., Santa Cruz. The center’s hours are 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
