Choose a med­i­ta­tion pro­gram that helps you sleep, deepen a state of mind­ful­ness and build a sense of grat­i­tude. One draw­back: There is no pause but­ton. You have to click out of the app to stop it. (iOS 7.0 or later) and keep you prac­tic­ing this an­cient art of well-be­ing. Highdef videos guide you through yoga moves de­signed specif­i­cally for peo­ple who seek flex­i­bil­ity, bet­ter sleep, ex­er­cises that are ap­pro­pri­ate dur­ing preg­nancy and so­lu­tions to of­fice stress (yes, you can do th­ese right at your desk). The app of­fers un­lim­ited ac­cess to all the yoga pro­grams for $4.49 per month or a one-time $99 life­time plan. (An­droid, iOS)

Salute the Desk is an­other yoga and stretch­ing app de­signed for those of us who are chained, at least fig­u­ra­tively, to our desks. Stud­ies now show that sit­ting for long stretches is detri­men­tal to our bod­ies. But many of us feel we have no choice. So along with get­ting up ev­ery hour or so to go get a drink of wa­ter, take a few min­utes to try a few of th­ese 27 yoga moves at your desk with the app to guide you. This one isn’t free, but for a one-time fee of $2.99, it could be worth the in­vest­ment. (iOS 6.0 or later)
