1 6 p.m. on FREE Shadow hunters

This hit fantasy series definitely hasn’t been having a sophomore slump, with an assortment of storylines that keep the action speeding along. Events come to a head in the mid-season finale, “By the Light of Dawn,” which finds the ruthless Valentine (Alan Van Sprang) implementi­ng his plan that threatens both the New York Institute and the Downworld. The Downworlde­rs aren’t going to sit back and watch doom befall them, however — and Valentine’s daughter, Clary (Kathleen McNamara), may become collateral damage.

2 8 p.m. on CBS Superior Donuts

Though he resists it, Arthur (Judd Hirsch) ultimately gives in and takes a vacation day in the new episode “Arthur’s Day Off.” Randy and Fawz (Katey Sagal, pictured, Maz Jobrani) try to get him to enjoy himself away from work, but that isn’t an easy task. While Arthur is away, Franco (Jermaine Fowler) tries to prove himself entirely capable of running the shop.

3 8 p.m. on A&E Bates Motel

A new episode called “Bad Blood” finds Norman (Freddie Highmore) helping Chick (Ryan Hurst) with a project, while elsewhere, Romero (Nestor Carbonell) makes his move, setting into play his obsessive quest to avenge Norma’s (Vera Farmiga) death.

4 8 p.m. on ABC The Bachelor

It’s a tradition of this series that before the man in question chooses between the two remaining ladies, “The Women Tell All” ... that is, the women not given enough roses to qualify them to stay until the end. In this latest edition of that special episode, those who were sent packing by “Bachelor” Nick Viall talk about their experience­s and stoke old rivalries anew in certain cases.

5 9 p.m. on HBO Movie: The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma & the Silk Road Ensemble

Filmmaker Morgan Neville uses performanc­e clips, interviews and archival footage for this profile of celebrated cellist Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, an eclectic group of musicians who tour worldwide to celebrate the power of music. Named for the ancient trade route that linked Asia, Europe and Africa, the group consists of a diverse, rotating assortment of instrument­alists, vocalists, composers and storytelle­rs.
