6 p.m. on NBC Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly
The former Fox News Channel personality officially begins her tenure at NBC News with the premiere of this magazine program, for which the special she did last year for the parent Fox network may have been something of a preview with its personality profiles. Some are intrigued to see whether she adjusts her “Kelly File” persona for her new role. In any event, she won’t be alone here, with NBC veteran Kate Snow joining her as a correspondent.
7 p.m. on NBC American Ninja Warrior
A huge annual draw for fans, this hit series presents — prior to the official start of its sixth season — its high-stakes international competition “USA vs. the World,” which sees teams from America, Europe and Japan traveling to Las Vegas, Nev., to tackle the punishing finals course in this new episode.
7 p.m. on AMC Fear the Walking Dead
Season three of this apocalyptic drama opens with the core families closer to a reconciliation than they may realize along the U.S.-Mexican border, where the end of the world has eradicated international boundaries. Although Madison (Kim Dickens, pictured,) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), her son, Nick (Frank Dillane), remains badly shaken by his narrow escape from an American militia group.

Movie: Site Unseen: An Emma Fielding Mystery
Courtney Thorne-Smith stars in this new mystery movie franchise as archaeologist Emma Fielding, who’s working on an exciting dig to unearth evidence of a 17thcentury coastal Maine settlement that predates Jamestown. Unfortunately, the discovery of a far more recent corpse on the site threatens to shut things down and embroils Emma and her students in a different kind of investigation. This new series of TV movies is based on novels by Dana Cameron.
8 p.m. on SHOW I’m Dying up Here
“Dying is easy. Comedy is hard.” Set against the backdrop of the vibrant ’70s comedy scene in Los Angeles, this new drama series explores that axiom through the complex psyches of aspiring (and fictional) young standup comics as they try to break into the business. In the “Pilot,” a comic’s spot on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show prompts a big reaction from his peers.
