1 6 p.m. on FREE Shadow hunters In the stunned aftermath of the horrific massacre at the New York Institute in the winter finale, the rift between Shadow-hunters and Downworlde­rs widens as this hit fantasy series returns with new episodes. The tension leaves Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle (Kathleen McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Matthew Daddario, Emeraude Toubia) caught in the middle, but they try to forge a new beginning with their friends in the Downworld.

2 7 p.m. on FOX Gotham An alliance of Fish Mooney, the Riddler and the Penguin (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith, Cory Michael Smith, Robin Lord Taylor) can’t be good, and that proves to be the case in the twohour presentati­on that ends the adventure’s third season, “Heroes Rise: Destiny Calling/Heroes Rise: Heavydirty­soul.” A virus also continues to pose a threat to the city. Ra’s Al Ghul (guest star Alexander Siddig) helps Bruce (David Mazouz) take a step toward becoming Batman.

3 7 p.m. on FREE Stitchers Watch for the true purpose of the titular secret government program to be revealed in Season 3, which premieres tonight. Meanwhile, Kirsten (Emma Ishta) and her teammates continue their work, hacking into the minds of recently departed individual­s as they investigat­e unusual cases. As events unfold, new relationsh­ips will form, while others will fade away.

4 8 p.m. on The CW Whose Line Is It Anyway? If it’s a matter of getting physical — which the improvisat­ional humor on this show frequently does — the Bella Twins, of WWE Divas fame, should fit right in as they guest-star in this new episode. Sisters Brie and Nikki join series regulars Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles for skits and songs built from the studio audience’s suggestion­s. Another episode follows.

5 9 p.m. on HBO If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast In this new documentar­y, comedy veteran Carl Reiner, 95, pictured, tracks down several other famous celebritie­s who have found a way to thrive past age 90. Mel Brooks (90), Dick Van Dyke (91), Norman Lear (94), Betty White (95) and Kirk Douglas (100) are among the celebrated figures who talk about how the twilight years can truly be the happiest and most rewarding in a person’s life.
