Cheryl Terry Meyer, Española, Aug. 8 Yuri Borisovich ZInchenko, July 30

Cheryl Terry Meyer, resident of Española, New Mexico, passed away August 8, 2017 in the home of daughter and son-in-law, Anna & John Gibson. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Joseph Bauman and leaves her husband, Roger A. Meyer, and her loving daughter, Anna Lindley Gibson, sonin-law John Gibson and her two granddaugh­ters, Maggie and Sarah Gibson. Born in Nyack, New York, she traveled the U.S. as a young adult, then later living for many years in the Adirondack­s of upstate N.Y. She resided in Espanola, N.M. since 2006, where she, in recent years, had worked with special needs students at Fairview Elementary School. Her passion being quilting, she created the quilting group, “Pine Needles,’ in Chestertow­n, N.Y., was instrument­al in creating, and was the first president of the quilting guild, “Northern Lights” in Brant Lake, N.Y. In New Mexico, she was a member of the Santa Fe’s “Northern New Mexico Quilting Guild” and was an active member in Espanola’s “Fiber Arts Ctr.” Some of her work has also been published. She will be remembered by all who knew her as being hard working, kind, honest, and loving. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a memorial service to follow from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks you please make donations to ALS Associatio­n, www.alsa.org.
