7 p.m. on CW The Flash
Directed by series regular Tom Cavanagh, the new episode “Elongated Journey Into Night” features a guest star who doesn’t do much television, but is unmistakable: Danny Trejo (“Machete”). He plays Gypsy’s (guest star Jessica Camacho) father, whose arrival on Earth-1 stirs tensions — and maybe even something worse — with Cisco (Carlos Valdes). Barry (Grant Gustin) again encounters enemy Ralph Dibny (guest star Hartley Sawyer).
7 p.m. on DEST Terror in the Woods
This new two-hour holiday edition, called “Halloween Fright Night,” includes three chilling stories. One of them involves a couple who buy a vacation home in scenic Red River Gorge, Ky., where they look forward to spending weekends communing with nature. Soon, however, this dream home turns into a nightmare, as strange entities appear on their security cameras, their TV turns itself on and off and every night is filled with mysterious bumps and thumps.
7 p.m. on TNT Major Crimes
This hit crime procedural takes a serialized format for its sixth and final season, which finds the Major Crimes squad investigating mysteries and murders fraught with explosive political implications, even as Cmdr. Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell, pictured) adjusts to her new boss, Assistant Chief Leo Mason (Leonard Roberts). In the season premiere, “Sanctuary City: Part 1,” Mason orders the team to give top priority to the disappearance of three teenagers from a Catholic school field trip.
8 p.m. on ABC blackish
Series creator Kenya Barris wrote the new episode “Public Fool,” in which Junior (Marcus Scribner) fills that title slot in a certain sense. He ends up looking bad as the result of a situation at school, which proves serious enough for his entire educational future to be jeopardized. Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Laurence Fishburne, Yara Shahidi and Jenifer Lewis also star.
10 p.m. on PBS The Draft
The process of selecting Americans for military duty is considered by this special, which notes controversies that the draft has generated — encompassing President Franklin Roosevelt’s creation of a peacetime draft. Those chosen to serve often have had long tours of duty in foreign lands, with protests on home turf being among the results, certainly during the Vietnam War. Interviews also trace reforms that have been applied to the draft over the years.
