6 p.m. on SHOW New Wave: Dare to Be Different

Three decades after the much-loved Long Island-based radio station WLIR left the airwaves, filmmaker Ellen Goldfarb pays tribute to this true cultural institution, which spent much of the 1980s on the cutting edge of the music scene. WLIR’s staff went rogue, defying the music industry and playing global imports before their domestic release, buying the singles at a nearby airport and rushing them into the studio. The film features archival footage of Blondie, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and many more groups of the era.

7 p.m. on CW Dynasty

Another of the major characters from the original version of this show becomes a factor here, as Nicollette Sheridan, pictured — who made a television mark in another serial of the same era, Knots Landing — joins the series in the new episode “Enter Alexis.” As if her mere presence isn’t enough to upset the other Carringtons, Alexis also receives a big inheritance that Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) is very suspicious about. Cristal (Nathalie Kelley) has other reasons to worry about the new arrival.

7 p.m. on DSC Gold Rush

Gold miner Parker Schnabel, 23, begins a second season of “Parker’s Trail” that takes him far afield from the Klondike Gold Rush Trail that provided a backdrop from Season 1. This time around, Schnabel is trying his luck deep in the dangerous jungles of Guyana, South America, a new mining hot spot that produced more than $750 million dollars in gold last year alone. It’s a fortune ready for the taking, but others, including rival Todd Hoffman, have failed in the attempt.

8 p.m. on CBS Hawaii Five-0

Alex O’Loughlin — alias this show’s McGarrett — directed the new episode “E ho’oko kuleana” (Hawaiian for “To Do One’s Duty”), in which Danny (Scott Caan) gets a visit from the ex-wife of the man who shot him. She tells Danny how his actions saved her during a domestic incident. Tani and Junior (Meagan Rath, Beulah Koale) get a taste of being on uniformed patrol. Music star Jimmy Buffett reprises his guest role.

8 p.m. on ABC Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

General Hale’s (guest star Catherine Dent) true purpose is determined by Coulson (Clark Gregg), who’s in the tough position of having to order the other agents to help her — if the world is to survive — in the new episode “Rise and Shine.” Adrian Pasdar and Dove Cameron also continue their guest roles. Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet and Natalia Cordova-Buckley also star.
