A man arrested Sunday on suspicion of molesting his girlfriend’s 13-year-old grandson was out of jail for only hours Monday before being booked again on charges of harassing witnesses in the case.

Arnold Sena, 57, initially was booked in the Santa Fe County jail Sunday on charges of criminal sexual contact with a minor and criminal sexual penetration after his girlfriend accused him of inappropriately touching her grandson during the night.

According to court documents and county jail records, Sena was released from custody around 8 p.m. Monday on an unsecured bond of $5,000 and was placed on a GPS monitor. He also was ordered not to have any contact with the teen or any other minor children.

Just hours later, according to a criminal complaint, Sena returned to the residence where his girlfriend alleged the incident occurred so he could retrieve his cellphone. He tried to go into the apartment, the complaint said, but was barred by a security lock on the door. He then shouted to his girlfriend and his boy’s mother, ordering them to come out of the apartment and give him his phone, according to the complaint.

At the time, the complaint said, his girlfriend’s 2-year-old grandson was inside the apartment.

A Santa Fe police officer who responded to calls about the incident arrested Sena on charges of bribery, intimidation or retaliation against a witness. He was booked again into the jail around 4 a.m. Tuesday, inmate logs show.

Sena was arraigned on the intimidation charges Tuesday afternoon.

Court documents show a Santa Fe County Magistrate Court judge ordered him held in jail on a bench warrant for failing to comply with the conditions of his release on the molestation charges because he tried to enter the apartment when the toddler was present.
