Have you seen any of these names on mailers or television ads? These five PACs spent more than any others between May 8-29.

New Mexicans for Progress Spent: $209,290.42 Raised: $440,000 Where did they get the money? All of it came from PNM Resources, the parent company of the state’s biggest electric utility. Where are they spending it? The money went to advertisin­g in two races for seats on the Public Regulation Commission, which regulates the company.

New Mexico Strong Spent: $120,901.46 Raised: $274,250 Where did they get the money? The money came from Mack Energy and Chevron. Where are they spending it? The group spent big to advertise in support of Democratic land commission­er candidate George Muñoz and Democratic state Reps. Debbie Rodella and Carl Trujillo.

Responsibl­e Leadership New Mexico Spent: $117,298.69 Raised: $55,200

Where did they get the money? Most of it came from former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and a group called State Victory Action, which appears to be funded by major donors to liberal causes such as George Soros. Where are they spending the money? The group is backing two candidates seeking to oust incumbents on the Public Regulation Commission.

CVNM Verde Voters Fund Spent: $90,084 Raised: $237,500 Where did they get the money? The group got $150,000 from Bloomberg and a total of $75,000 from affiliated conservati­on groups. Where are they spending it? Most of the spending apparently went to television advertisin­g. The group is attacking Muñoz in the land commission­er race and supporting Garrett VeneKlasen.

NM Prosperity Spent: $80,495 Raised: $52,500 Where are they getting the money? Most from Mack Energy and Enbridge, a pipeline company. Where are they spending it? Mostly on advertisin­g through McCleskey Media Strategies. It is circulatin­g mailers supporting Muñoz for land commission­er.
