Police seek ex-boyfriend accused of molesting girl

-

Santa Fe police are seeking a man on suspicion of repeatedly molesting and raping the young daughter of his former girlfriend over a three-year period, beginning when the child was 5.

According to an affidavit for an arrest warrant, Aureliano Aguilar-Escamilla, 46, of Santa Fe is facing nine counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, two counts of criminal sexual penetration and one count of attempting to commit criminal sexual contact.

Lt. Marvin Paulk of the Santa Fe Police Department said Wednesday afternoon that Aguilar-Escamilla had not yet been arrested.

In February, the affidavit says, the girl’s mother reported to police that as she was having a talk with her daughter, then 10, about inappropriate touching, the child burst into tears and told her Aguilar-Escamilla had touched her inappropriately several times between 2013 and 2015.

During a forensic interview with a social worker later that month, the girl described incidents in which the man removed her clothing and “touched her private parts with his private parts,” the affidavit says, usually when she was alone with him at a home but sometimes when her mother was in another room of the house.

A sexual assault nurse examiner later found evidence the girl had been sexually abused, according to the document.
