ANTHONY BOURDAIN: PARTS UNKNOWN
Crack open a cold one and resign yourself to getting a lump in your throat as you watch the finale of the 12th and final season of this boundlessly entertaining travel series with Anthony Bourdain, the beloved host who died last June. The episode, “Lower East Side,” finds “Tony” taking a personal journey through what once was a bohemian New York neighborhood, sharing meals and conversation with singer-songwriters Richard Hell and Deborah Harry, and guitarist Chris Stein, the co-founder of Blondie.
7 p.m. TNT THE LAST SHIP
Loosely based on a 1988 novel by William Brinkley, this action-drama series opened just after a global pandemic wiped out more than 80 percent of the world population, leaving the crew of the USS Nathan James to struggle with a long series of challenges as its commanders and crew sought to restore and maintain world order. That mission climaxes tonight after five seasons with the series finale “Commitment,” in which Adm. Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) confronts the greatest threat he ever has faced.
11:30 p.m. HBO SALLY4EVER
Julia Davis — who also created the original British version of the current HBO comedy “Camping” — created, wrote, directed and executive produced every episode in Season 1 of this Britcom, wherein she also has a featured acting role. Catherine Shepherd (“Peep Show”) stars as marketing executive Sally, whose engagement to boring boyfriend David (Alex McQueen) is complicated when she meets the dazzling Emma (Davis), with whom she begins a same-sex affair. Soon, however, she discovers Emma is a complete nightmare.
