The Santa Fe Council on Internatio­nal Relations held a conference on December 5-7, called Journalism Under Fire which fostered important discussion­s regarding the essential connection­s between journalism and democracy. More than 50 journalist­s and speakers from around the world came to Santa Fe to explore press freedoms and the turbulent dynamics of today’s media. The Santa Fe New Mexican, as a proud sponsor, hosted a social mixer on December 5, allowing these journalist­s to mingle and share ideas, as well as tour the facilities and meet The New Mexican staff members.
