Jan. 14, 1969: The federal government has ignored objections of New Mexico cattlemen and increased the grazing fees for livestock on public lands throughout the United States.
The Bureau of the Budget in Washington adopted Monday the increases in grazing fees proposed in November by the Dept. of the Interior and the Dept. of Agriculture.
Jan. 14, 1994: In a series of appearances across the state this week, U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman has made official what has been obvious for some time — he intends to seek a third six-year term as senator.
Bingaman, a Democrat, made his Santa Fe re-election announcement on Wednesday.
