Fatal rollover shuts down I-25

-

One person was killed Saturday when a car rolled over on Interstate 25 near St. Francis Drive, Santa Fe police said.

Lt. Paul Joye said many details of the accident were not known Saturday, including the name of the victim.

Sometime before 3:45 p.m. the car, which was traveling northbound, rolled over and went into the southbound lanes, Joye said.

Police shut down traffic on that part of the interstate, rerouting the southbound traffic between Old Pecos Trail and St. Francis Drive, Joye said. The southbound lanes were still closed as of about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. There were two occupants of the car, both of whom were transported to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, Joye said. The condition of the second occupant was not released.
