LUNA COMMUNITY COLLEGE NAMES INTERIM PRESIDENT
Sharon Lalla, who oversees academic and vocational departments at Luna Community College, has been appointed acting president while a search to fill the position permanently nears its conclusion, the college announced last week.
Lalla will take on the additional duties starting Monday. She came to Luna after time as a faculty member and administrator at New Mexico State University, and has served as vice president for instruction at Luna since July 2016.
“My current vision is a six-week vision,” Lalla said, alluding to Luna’s effort to secure its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission. “We want to be as transparent and as informative as possible across campus and in the community. … We will have a lot of collaboration.”
