SANTA FE CC, NORTHERN N.M. COLLEGE JOIN TO OFFER JOB TRAINING
Santa Fe Community College will collaborate with Northern New Mexico College to offer the New Mexico Environmental Workforce Job Training Program.
The five-week intensive training will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from May 20 through June 21 at NNMC in Española. Training costs for unemployed, underemployed or low-income applicants who are accepted into the program will be covered by an Environmental Protection Agency grant.
Program graduates will receive federal and state recognized certifications such as hazardous waste and emergency response, CPR and first aid, and fork lift operator.
Veterans are encouraged to apply. Space is limited, and applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants who successfully complete the program are eligible for job placement assistance. Most entry-level positions offer benefits with an average starting wage between $12 and $16 per hour.
