The postseason “Champions” episodes of this hit reality competitio­n series have proven a lively treat, giving viewers a chance to see outstandin­g performers from various internatio­nal franchises of this show, not to mention Britain’s Got Talent superstars Paul Potts and Susan Boyle, who became viral internet sensations. The winner and ultimate champion is crowned in tonight’s new “The Champions Results Finale,” before judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.

Filmmaker Bing Liu’s critically acclaimed and award-winning documentar­y Minding the Gap chronicles the lives of some of the director’s skateboard­ing friends in a small town outside Chicago from their teenage years to early adulthood. As the friends confront familiar life challenges, their shared passion for their sport becomes an activity that is both therapeuti­c and meditative, strengthen­ing their bond as they encourage one another to try new stunts and just spend quality time together.

John Legend is an executive producer on this critically acclaimed 2018 documentar­y, which examines a largely unacknowle­dged African-American subculture of roller skaters, a community of thousands in a racially charged environmen­t who are united in fighting the imminent closure of the last standing roller rinks in the United States. The film by Tina Brown and Dyana Winkler includes interviews with such hip-hop stars as Salt-NPepa, Coolio and Vin Rock of Naughty by Nature.
