Host and lifestyle expert Clinton Kelly welcomes 10 talented bakers who must try to impress returning judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman and Lorraine Pascale with their baked treats as this hit culinary competitio­n series returns for Season 5. In the season premiere, “Spring Has Sprung,” a preheat challenge tasks the bakers with creating animal-themed donuts. The main heat challenges the bakers to summon their inner artists and design watercolor cakes featuring iconic spring fruits and vegetables.

Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) tries to end her marriage once and for all, which causes Doug (guest star Brian Hallisay) to crowd into Chimney’s (Kenneth Choi, pictured) life even more as this action drama returns for its spring premiere with “New Beginnings.” Elsewhere, Bobby (Peter Krause) meets Athena’s (Angela Bassett) parents for the first time. On the job, a gas leak in a plastic surgeon’s office happens in mid-surgery, and a tanker transporti­ng a tiger shark crashes on the freeway.

As a courtroom prosecutor, Marcia Clark failed to win a guilty verdict with murder defendant O.J. Simpson, but she may get the last word, after a fashion, in this new legal drama, on which she’s a co-writer and executive producer. Robin Tunney (The Mentalist) stars as prosecutor Maya Travis, who goes into self-imposed seclusion after failing to make a murder case against a charismati­c celebrity (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Years later, though, Maya’s called back to work when the same star is similarly accused.

10 p.m. on HBO Movie: The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley

Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney focuses on fraud in this documentar­y, which chronicles the case of Elizabeth Holmes, who drummed up some Alist investors for The Edison, a device she claimed could quickly diagnose illnesses. But The Edison was a bust that relied on rigged test results.
