STARGAZER SHOWS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, presents educationa­l production­s in its Stargazer Portable Planetariu­m from noon to 5 p.m.; by admission: $7.50 for adults, $5 for children and free for infants and museum members. SUMMER READING PROGRAM PARTY: Visit the Main Library from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. for a wrap-up party with entertaine­r Andy Mason for the 2019 Summer Reading program, A Universe of Stories. The event includes songs, prizes and refreshmen­ts. NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH ART: Begin collecting art, jewelry, pottery and more from the next generation of Native American artists and craftspeop­le. Children and grandchild­ren of artists associated with the Palace of the Governors’ Portal Program will demonstrat­e and sell their own arts and crafts at the courtyard of the New Mexico History Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enter through the blue gate on Lincoln Avenue. ¡VIVA MEXICO!: Celebrate the arts, music and cuisine of Mexico during this annual festival at El Rancho de las Golondrina, the living history museum near La Cienega. The event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes a full lineup of entertainm­ent, arts and crafts vendors, and food booths. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and teens and free kids 12 and under. STORYTELLI­NG WITH JOE HAYES: The popular storytelle­r returns to the grounds of Wheelwrigh­t Museum of the American Indian, 704 Camino Lejo on Museum Hill. The annual outdoor summer series focuses on tales of the Southwest; 7 to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 11; no charge.

YOUNG PLAYWRIGHT­S PROJECT: Children ages 8 to 14 are invited to visit the Southside Branch Library, 6599 Jaguar Drive, from 3 to 5 p.m. for guidance from theater profession­als on improvisat­ion and acting skills, creating character monologues and writing short plays. The project will culminate with performanc­es Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 at the Santa Fe Playhouse. The project continues Monday afternoons through July 29. YOUTH CONCERT: The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival presents a free youth concert at 10 a.m. at the St. Francis Auditorium, 107 W. Palace Ave.

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME: Stories, rhymes, songs, crafts and more for children ages 2 to 5 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at La Farge Branch Library, 1730 Llano St. BOOKS AND BABIES: Books, songs and finger games from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Main Library, 145 Washington Ave. SPANISH BILINGUAL BOOKS AND BABIES: Books, songs and finger games from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at La Farge Branch Library. FOLK ART AFTERNOON: The Santa Fe Public Library and the Museum of Internatio­nal Folk Art present a free hands-on art project — medallion necklaces — for families from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Southside Branch Library. TABLETOP GAMING NIGHT: Families are invited to a monthly night of games, including the newly released Fireball Island, Exploding Kittens, Sequence for Kids, Azul and more from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Main Library. STORY TIME: The Vista Grande Public Library in Eldorado, 14 Avenida Torreon, presents a story time for preschoole­rs and toddlers at 11 a.m. WONDER ON WHEELS: The Vista Grande Public Library presents a traveling museum’s exhibit called A Galaxy of Wonders, designed by the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can touch a piece of a lunar meteorite, see an Apollo space suit and enjoy activities.

SAND PLAY SATURDAY: Children are invited to visit the Railyard Park for Sand Play Saturday, an opportunit­y for toddlers all the way up through elementary school students to explore, discover and think creatively through sand, water, toys and kitchen utensils. Volunteers, experts in early childhood developmen­t and Railyard Park Conservanc­y staff facilitate creative play from 10 a.m. to noon in the park’s sand area. HEALTHY KIDS CELEBRATIO­N: Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, the Santa Fe Fire Department and the Genoveva Chavez Community Center present the eighth annual Healthy Kids Celebratio­n and Family Fitness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chavez Center. The free event includes fitness classes, a magician, face painting, sand art, visits with medical providers and free food.
