PRESCHOOL STORY TIME: Stories, rhymes, songs, crafts and more for children ages 2 to 5 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at La Farge Branch Library, 1730 Llano St.

HARRY POTTER’S BIRTHDAY: Celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday from noon to 4 p.m. at La Farge Branch Library with a program that includes wand making, an escape room, a scavenger hunt and other activities.

FREE ADMISSION TO CHILDREN’S MUSEUM: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers free admission to children under 16 every Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 2

GARDEN SPROUTS: Stories and hands-on activities for children ages 3 to 5 with a caregiver from 9 to 10 a.m., weather permitting; sponsored by the Santa Fe Botanical Garden and the Railyard Park Conservanc­y. Meet at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden on Museum Hill, 725 Camino Lejo; $5 suggested donation; free to members and children under 12.

Saturday, Aug. 3

SCIENCE SATURDAYS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers science fun for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. with guest scientists and STEM instructor­s, by admission.

Sunday, Aug. 4

ARTS IN THE PARK: Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood hosts a two-day writing program for kids age 8 to 16. Participan­ts will get a tour of the wildlife zoo and then author Allison Bruning will guide them through the process of writing a story about an animal. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday; the public can hear their stories from 4 to 6 p.m Sunday. Registrati­on is $20.
