Liam N. Devlin of Los Alamos has received a National Merit Scholarshi­p from Tufts University near Boston.

Carlos Andres Vazquez Baur received a Bachelor of Science in math and computer science in May from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.

Sarah Corey-Rivas of Las Vegas, N.M., has been elected an officer for the New Mexico Highlands University chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Corey-Rivas, associate professor of biology at Highlands, was elected to the position of treasurer for the 2019 term.

Several local residents were among more than 400 students who graduated from Fort Lewis College recently. They include:

Valerie Calabaza of Santa Fe, who received a degree in exercise science.

Alyssa Evans of Santa Fe, who received a degree in business administra­tion.

Elizabeth Haagenstad of Los Alamos, who received a degree in psychology.

Anthony Montoya of Española, who received a degree in chemistry.

Logan Montoya of Santa Fe, who received a degree in accounting.

Victoria Quintana of Santa Fe, who received a degree in biology.

Melissa Wysocki of Los Alamos, who received a degree in exercise specialist.

Cassandra Frank, a 2016 St. Michael’s High School graduate and the daughter of Santa Fe Pens owner Neal Frank, made the Dean’s List at DePaul University’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Studies for the spring semester. Cassandra Frank, who also serves as the secretary for her Phi Mu sorority, is majoring in English with a minor in advertisin­g and public relations at DePaul, a Catholic university in Chicago.
