Dr. Charles E Hauser, 60, Santa Fe, July 31 Patrick Jerome Montez, 79, July 28

PATRICK JEROME MONTEZ AUGUST 22, 1958 ~ JULY 31, 2019

Patrick "Pat" Montez, 60 was called home to heaven unexpected­ly on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2019. Patrick was born, raised, and resided in his home in Santa Fe, NM until his passing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rose Montez and Joe Eloy Montez.

Patrick worked for the New Mexico Museum System as a security guard for many years. He also worked for the Santa Fe Public School system as a custodian as well as had some of his own janitorial ventures.

Patrick was a man of deep faith. He had a deep love for the Blessed Mother, whom he called his "Momma Mary", as well as the Holy Spirit. He had a gentle and loving heart. His soft smile would light up a room and his joyful nature permeated his surroundin­gs. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He also had a deep love and respect for nature and animals.

He leaves behind his sisters; Theresa Montez and Mary Susan Montez; his brothers; Joe A. "Michael" Montez (Diane), David Montez, and John Montez; nieces, Montessa Valdez, Margaret Colette Herrera (Neal), Michelle Montez (Toby), and Melissa Montez; nephews, Leon Montez (Manda), Matthew Herrera, Marc Montez (Monica), and Adam "Chris" Montez (Trish), numerous great nieces and nephews, and one great-great niece. He was very close to one of his great nephews, Isaiah Herrera. He is also survived by numerous friends and family, including childhood best friend Jerome Gomez.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Anne Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Rosario Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearer­s will be Marc Montez, Chris Montez, Dominic Valdez, Leon Montez, Joshua Montez, and Isaiah Herrera. DR. CHARLES E HAUSER

Dr. Charles E Hauser, 79, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on 7/28/2019 after a short illness.

Charles was born to Abe and Florence Hauser in 1940, in Galveston, Texas. He is the youngest of four sons. Charles married the love of his life, Leah, just before graduating medical school in 1965. They moved to NYC for Charles’s residency, then St. Louis and Galveston where he completed his medical training. Charles practiced Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Houston, followed by 20 years in Colorado Springs, and 27 years in Santa Fe. Charles and Leah moved to Scottsdale last year to prepare for retirement.

Over the years Charles had a private practice, provided care in hospitals and clinics, and served as president of the local APA Chapter of Colorado Springs. Most recently he did telepsychi­atry, consulting with rural and reservatio­n clinics in several states.

Outside of work, Charles was a political activist in his community. Charles and Leah supported the arts and music, attended films and cultural events, and traveled the world. He also loved hiking and skiing with friends.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Leah, daughter Megan, son Daniel (wife Michelle), and granddaugh­ter Abigail. He was preceded in death by both parents, and two of his brothers.

A small family ceremony was held in Denver officiated by Rabbi Rick Rheins of Temple Sinai.
