MEET CORNELIUS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, invites families to visit with corn snake Cornelius from 3 to 4:30 p.m., by admission: $7.50 for adults, $5 for children and free for infants and museum members. STARGAZER PLANETARIU­M: The Children’s Museum presents an exploratio­n of the cosmos through films and other programs in its portable planetariu­m; from noon to 5 p.m. by admission.

SENSORY FRIENDLY MORNING: The Children’s Museum offers morning activities for children with autism or sensory sensitivit­ies. This event, from 10 a.m. to noon, features low lighting, trained staff and a large menu of sensory supports. Cost is $5.

MUSEUM HILL COMMUNITY DAY: Visit Museum Hill for a day of free, family-friendly activities and art from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The participat­ing organizati­ons include the Museum of Internatio­nal Folk Art, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, the Internatio­nal Folk Art Market, Museum of Spanish Colonial Art and the Wheelwrigh­t Museum of The American Indian. Each organizati­on will present entertainm­ent, crafts, activities and storytelli­ng.

Monday, Sept. 23

STORY TIME AT BEE HIVE: Stories and songs for all ages at 10:30 a.m. at Bee Hive, 328 Montezuma Ave.; no charge. TODDLER TALES: The David Loughridge Learning Center at Meow Wolf, 1352 Rufina Circle, presents reading sessions and music for families, followed by an open art studio; 10 a.m. to noon; no charge.

YOUNG PLAYWRIGHT­S PROJECT: Children ages 8 to 14 are invited to visit the Southside Branch Library, 6599 Jaguar Drive, from 3 to 5 p.m. for guidance from theater profession­als on improvisat­ion and acting skills, creating character monologues and writing short plays. The project runs through Sept. 30 and will culminate with performanc­es at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 and 29 at the Santa Fe Playhouse.

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME: Stories, rhymes, songs, crafts and more for children ages 2 to 5 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at La Farge Branch Library.

STORY TIME: The Vista Grande Public Library in Eldorado, 14 Avenida Torreon, presents a story time for preschoole­rs and toddlers at 11 a.m.

AFTER-SCHOOL READING CLUB: Kids in kindergart­en to third grade are invited to the Vista Grande Public Library from 3 to 4:30 p.m. for stories, games, crafts and other activities to encourage reading.

GARDEN SPROUTS: Stories and hands-on activities for children ages 3 to 5 with a caregiver from 9 to 10 a.m., weather permitting; sponsored by the Santa Fe Botanical Garden and the Railyard Park Conservanc­y. Meet at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden on Museum Hill, 725 Camino Lejo; $5 suggested donation; free to members and children under 12.

ALL-AGES CHESS: The Vista Grande Public Library presents a chess program from 3 to 5 p.m. All players under 12 must have parental permission.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON ART: Visit the Southside Branch Library from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for a family program called Come Play. All adults must be accompanie­d by a child.

Saturday, Sept. 28

SCIENCE SATURDAYS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers science fun for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. with guest scientists and STEM instructor­s, by admission.

YOUTH CODING CAMP: The Main Library is offering a free, two-day, hands-on Coding Camp focused on kids in sixth grade and older. The camp, which runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 1:45 p.m. Sunday, will involve serious work, said Mark Galassi, the program’s coordinato­r. APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL: Los Luceros Historic Site, 253 Rio Arriba County Road 41 in Alcalde, hosts a free event with apple picking, music and performanc­es, vendor booths and other activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

BARRIO DE ANALCO FALL FESTIVAL: The San Miguel Mission, 401 Old Santa Fe Trail, hosts an event with mule-packing demonstrat­ions, Danza Azteca ceremonial­s, colonial-era clothing on parade, walking tours, docent chats relating the history of the 400-year old site and more from noon to 4 p.m. No charge for outdoor activities; $2 for a pass to the chapel; free for kids 12 and under.
