The touching stories of several canine finalists in a variety of categories are shared during the course of this telecast, which climaxes with the announceme­nt of a winner selected by a nationwide popular vote and a panel of celebrity judges.

Four of the fiercest women in home renovation and design face off in this new reality competitio­n series, in which each of the rivals is given four weeks and $175,000 for their makeover on one of four identical properties in the Los Angeles area. The goal? To enhance the value of the property. The competitor­s are Leanne Ford (Restored by the Fords), Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones), Jasmine Roth (Hidden Potential) and Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab).

The Love of Dogs Benefit Concert From the Country Music Hall of Fame CMA Theater in Nashville, Tenn., Larissa Wohl hosts this musical event aimed at finding permanent homes for millions of shelter and rescue dogs across the United States. Country music stars Lee Brice, pictured, Hunter Hayes and Easton Corbin team up for the concert, which was filmed earlier this month. The concert and special are a joint production of Hallmark Channel and Pedigree Foundation, a private group that supports shelter and rescue organizati­ons.

Catherine the Great

Academy Award- and Emmy-winner Helen Mirren stars in this four-part historical miniseries as the imperious monarch who ruled the Russian empire, transformi­ng its place in the eyes of the world during her reign. The U.S.-British co-production chronicles the end of Catherine’s reign and her affair with Russian military leader Grigory Potemkin (Jason Clarke), a liaison that helped shape the future of Russian politics. Their initial meeting occurs in tonight’s premiere, as Catherine is facing challenges to her throne from all sides.
