BUSINESSES EXEMPT FROM SHUTDOWN ORDER
According to the Governor’s Office, the following types of businesses and organizations are excluded from an order to halt operations at 8 a.m. Tuesday to help limit the spread of the new coronavirus:
◆ Health care operations, including hospitals, walk-in facilities, emergency veterinary and livestock services, pharmacies, medical equipment manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors, home health care workers or aides for the elderly, emergency dental facilities and nursing homes.
◆ Homeless shelters, food banks and other services for indigent populations.
◆ Child care facilities.
◆ Grocery stores, all food and beverage stores, supermarkets, food banks, farmers markets and food vendors, convenience stores and other businesses that generate the majority of their revenue from the sale of food and household products.
◆ Farms, ranches and other food production and packaging operations.
◆ All facilities used by law enforcement and other emergency first responders, dispatch centers and courts.
◆ Infrastructure operations, including public utilities; roadwork; construction and maintenance operations; airports; public and private transportation services; trash and recycling operations; oil drilling and mining operations; nuclear material research and enrichment; internet providers; and telecommunications systems.
◆ A range of manufacturing operations.
◆ Services necessary to maintain safety and sanitation of residences and essential businesses.
◆ Media services.
◆ Gas stations, automobile repair facilities and auto parts retailers.
◆ Hardware stores.
◆ Laundromats and dry cleaner services.
◆ Funeral homes, crematoriums and cemeteries.
◆ Banks, credit unions, insurance providers, payroll services, brokerage services and investment management firms.
◆ Real estate services.
◆ Mailing and shipping services.
◆ Laboratories, defense and other national security-related operations.
◆ Restaurants, breweries and distilleries, but only for delivery or takeout.
◆ Professional services, such as legal and accounting, to assist in compliance with legally mandated activities.
◆ Businesses that store, ship or deliver groceries, food, goods or services directly to residences or retailers.
