CHRIS MONTOYA

Chris Montoya, 62, resident of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on December 22, 2020. He is with our blessed mother Mary Jesus and Joseph in Heaven.

I held your hand when you were born and I held your hand when you took your last breath.

He was born in Santa Fe, NM on January 24, 1958 to Connie Rivera Chavez and Cristobal Montoya. He was raised by his stepfather John Medrano.

Because of his love for horses he became a Jockey and later in life he became a successful General Contractor. He loved horseback riding, singing and playing the guitar. He had a great voice and liked singing Country Western and he was a great dancer.

He was preceded in death by his sons Manuel and Joseph; and his loving sister Antionette; his maternal grandparents, aunts, cousins, and his brother-in-law Jerry Trujillo; his paternal grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather Connie Rivera Chavez and Humberto Chavez; his daughters Lehna (Randy) and Kelli; his grandsons Sebastian, Raymond, Ryan, Santino, and Xavier; granddaughters Amber, Natalie, Layona, Nevaeh, and his Pumpkin Seed, his sister Theresa Trujillo, brother Ross Montoya (Mariah), sister Liz Frobrose (Fred), brother Eugene Montoya, and his uncle Robert Rivera (Sandra), many nephews, nieces, and their children and many cousins.

I would like to clarify my sons last wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread at his favorite horseback riding place.

Due to Covid all services will take place at a later date.
