Movie: Taking a Shot at Love Jenna (Alexa PenaVega) was a professional dancer until an injury ended her career. Now, she teaches dance, and her sports agent cousin hopes she may be able to help a hockey client, Ryan “Coop” Cooper (Luke Macfarlane), recover from a very similar sports injury. Jenna needs the money, so she takes the gig, although Coop is initially really skeptical about this unconventional therapy. Eventually, though, they get on the same page, and as he makes impressive strides in his recovery, the pair strike romantic sparks as well.

Kindred Spirits Paranormal investigators and real-life BFFs Amy Bruni and Adam Berry, pictured, again team up with psychic medium Chip Coffey as they return for another season of this hit series, which finds them digging deeply into America’s past to contact and identify some of the restless spirits that are said to haunt some of the country’s oldest inns, homes and estates. The premiere, “Devil in Salem,” takes the trio to Massachusetts to the home of John Proctor, one of the men found guilty and executed during Salem’s infamous witch trials.

Movie: The High Note A good cast elevates Nisha Ganatra’s somewhat familiar 2020 comedy-drama about a longtime personal assistant (Dakota Johnson) to a veteran R&B singer (Tracee Ellis Ross) who yearns for a career of her own as a music producer. Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Godfather of Harlem) co-stars as an aspiring young musician who catches her attention. Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, has a cameo; Ice Cube, Jonathan Freeman, June Diane Raphael, Bill Pullman and Eddie Izzard also are featured.

ACL Hall of Fame: The First Six Years As with so many other awards shows, this annual ceremony has been canceled for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and related public health proscriptions against large public gatherings. In its place, this new onehour special presents highlights from ceremonies over the past six years. Established in 2014, the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame has featured more than two dozen inductees during its relatively short history, honoring those artists whose performances on this long-running TV series have had an impact on the show’s identity.
