Inspired by a popular podcast, this suspenseful new docudrama chronicles previously untold stories, often involving forgotten characters, in the Watergate political scandal, from some of the subordinates to President Richard Nixon to the zealots aiding and abetting the crimes that eventually ended Nixon’s presidency in 1974. The main players in the powerhouse ensemble include Sean Penn and Julia Roberts star as Attorney General John Mitchell and his whistle-blowing wife, Martha, and Betty Gilpin (Glow) and Dan Stevens as Mo and John Dean.
8 p.m. on HBO Barry
Series co-creator and star Bill Hader, pictured, returns to his Emmy-winning role of hitman turned actor Barry Berkman as this dark comedy returns following an extended coronavirus pandemic-related hiatus. As the story resumes, Barry is desperately searching the dark web for jobs, while Sally (Sarah Goldberg), now starring in her own show, feels the pressures of success. Elsewhere, Gene (Henry Winkler) can’t stop thinking about Funches’ (Stephen Root) devastating revelation. Anthony Carrigan also stars.
8 p.m. on SHOW The Man Who Fell to Earth
This new series adaptation of a novel by Walter Tevis, which previously inspired an iconic 1976 film starring David Bowie, follows Faraday, a new alien character played by Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution. That timing compels him to confront his own past to determine the future of Homo sapiens. Naomie Harris (Moonlight) co-stars as a brilliant scientist who has personal demons of her own to battle. The series, which premieres tonight with two back-to-back episodes, also features Jimmi Simpson.

YouTube stars and real-life BFFs Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal have built a strong following on social media with countless video segments dedicated to learning about and trying new foods. Their new Food Network show focuses more on the familiar, however, as the duo go behind closed doors to meet the people who create many of the things we love to eat. In their first season, Rhett & Link visit Chipotle Mexican Grill, Coolhaus Ice Cream, The Cheesecake Factory and the innovation kitchens at Beyond Meat, among other businesses.
